Jayawardene and Sangakkara break partnership record
Records, much like rules, are there to be broken. The Sri Lankan duo of Mahela Jayawardene and Kumar Sangakkara, captain and vice-captain and best friends, amassed a vast partnership of 624 breaking not only the record test match partnership but also the First Class partnership. Ever.Coincidentally, this partnership beats the previous best of 576 set by another couple of Sri Lankans; Sanath Jayasuriya (who was opening for Sri Lanka in this test) and Roshan Mahanama.
