So the comeback to end all comebacks has sadly ended in ignominy. Darren Gough is injured and will be out for six weeks. I think this will now, surely, bring the curtain down on Goughie's international career. Go back to Essex, sunshine - Gough, Tudor and Bichel is a pace triumvirate to rival any on the county scene.
Over the last 3 matches (the Twenty 20, the abandoned 1st one-day international and Saturday's second ODI) Gough had figures of 15.5-0-105-0 at 6.6 runs per over. That's just not good enough.
He has been England's best strike bowler of the last decade and it would be sad to see him continue beyond his prime and anyway he's one hell of a dancer.
